I don't think enough people realize how earnest drag is. People have this image of drag queens as saying "hehe I'm a man in a dress, isn't that funny," and sure some performers go for that schtick, but we're talking about people who take genuine comfort in being perceived as women, even if it's just in the context of a performance. If you are acquainted with any drag scene in any city, or hell even if you watch drag race, you'll know that many of the performers are trans, and many of the cis performers are visibly gender nonconforming on and off stage. Drag is an outlet for all the feminine expressions and creative impulses performers are told to suppress in their daily lives. People devote their lives to it, create luxury out of thrift finds and literal scraps, try to budget between looks and their next meal, risk rejection from their families or violent attacks, all because they care deeply about drag and the joy they derive from it. And people think it's just a bit?

hey @staff what the fresh fuck is this
Don’t forget y’all that there’s a much better way for us to let Tumblr know what we think about specific changes, rather than @ ing staff or wip, and it’s sending in a support ticket and choosing feedback!
Tumblr reverted some of the asinine app decisions they made after a concerted feedback effort! So make sure to use this form! It’s what it’s for, but it’s not well advertised!
"A certain critic—for such men, I regret to say, do exist—made the nasty remark about my last novel that it contained 'all the old Wodehouse characters under different names.' He has probably now been eaten by bears, like the children who made mock of the prophet Elisha: but if he still survives he will not be able to make a similar charge against Summer Lightning. With my superior intelligence, I have outgeneralled this man by putting in all the old Wodehouse characters under the same names. Pretty silly it will make him feel, I rather fancy."

The Do’s & Don'ts of interacting w/ content creators, & other people you don’t know well mutually I slapped together for Twitter.
This ended up being more Don'ts than Dos but I feel like people need more help learning what NOT to say once they stray away from simple compliments and questions.
Reminder for everyone ^^
